I am not typically one for epic fantasy series but this series is an exception. It’s a small one, only 3 books long, but I enjoyed some of the things that make it different from the others in the genre: the late middle aged female protagonist is the big one, but I also like that the heroes at the core of the story are the villains from an earlier age. It’s conventional and unconventional in ways that appeal to me.
