It’s time travel, it’s witches, it’s magic, it’s Neal Stephenson at his most rascally and he brings Nicole Galland along for the ride. They’re both such good writers that it’s hard to discern who wrote which part, which is kind of the ideal collaboration scenario. The second book is a more straightforward time travel story without the frenetic collisions of characters of the first one. I really enjoyed these books.
