This whole website is about me, but this is special About Me section that is specifically just about me. This page might give you some insight about me as a person. My pronouns are he/him.

I was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia. I went to Linsly School and then West Virginia University. I majored in English. I have lived in Pittsburgh since 2003. I love this city and its people. My favorite restaurant is Everyday Noodle in Squirrel Hill. Get the soup dumplings.

My favorite movie is The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1992) and my favorite band is Queen. I love science fiction and fantasy. I get very excited about Marvel movies, Star Wars stuff, and anything Tolkien-related. I can also solve a Rubik’s cube in under five minutes (the record is 4 seconds, so I have a ways to go yet). I have a New York Times crossword subscription, and I drink too much coffee.

I believe that it is incumbent upon people like me (white, cis, straight, middle class, male) to amplify and encourage marginalized voices. In my duties at Carlow University and elsewhere, it was my pleasure to do exactly that whenever possible. I will continue to do this, no matter where I might be.
